With
winter approaching, there has been a big push to wrap up important exterior
elements of the Firetower Building
- Energy Star Rated Windows and Glass Doors - Rated 10% above standard building code for insulative properties, these large windows and glass doors manufactured by Pella keep the cold out and heat in.
- Acoustically Rated
Floors and Walls – Corridors, common walls and floors meet a Sound
Transmission Class (STC) rating of 60, rendering loud conversation
inaudible.
- Cold Roof System – Two roofing layers with a ventilated space between them acts as a buffer between cold outdoor air and warm indoor air. Ventilating the warm interior air minimizes ice dams that can cause leaking roofs and lead to unnecessary repair and maintenance costs. This roof also helps dissipate heat from hot shingles during the summer months.
- Attractive, Low-Maintenance Exterior – Durable siding was chosen for its ablilty to withstand years of cold, sun and rain. Real stone is used in high-traffic and exposed areas for further protection. Beneath it all, building insulation exceeds energy efficiency code standards by 10%
