Alpine Village is pleased to welcome two new neighbors to downtown. FoggLifter Cafe and Salmon River Brewery are now open and have quickly become hot spots for food and drinks and good times in McCall.
Owner Steve Binninger took his prior experience managing a chain of coffee stores in California and opened FoggLifter Cafe during this year's McCall Winter Carnival. The cafe is named in honor of his wife's father Bob Fogg, a member of the Idaho Aviation Hall of Fame and pilot for countless backcountry smokejumper runs. Breakfast and lunch menus feature items including huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, bagels and gourmet sandwiches. Having coffee, whole leaf tea and espresso drinks on the sunny, south-facing patio promises to be a favorite activity for locals and visitors. They are located at 1003 3rd St @ Railroad and are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call them at 208-634-5507.
Salmon River Brewery opened last Friday to quite an enthusiastic crowd. In addition to the long list of locally brewed handcrafted beers, they offer a menu of pub food and are home to McCall's first sushi place - The Sushi Bar. Kristin says the rolls are delectable! Happy hour on pints is from 4-6 pm and they are open every day except Mondays. Looks like their website is still getting rolling, but you can find them online at www.salmonriverbrewery.com and at 300 Colorado Street - just a block from Alpine Village.
